Being a Step Parent

As a parent the feelings of fear, worry and hope are very obvious for your children; the same feeling are encountered when you are a parent, however being a step parent is much more difficult than being a parent.

Reasons for this are many but here are very important 5 steps to be successful even being a step parent. This is what you can do to have long lasting relationship with your children.

First Step – Unlike adults, children are not able to rationalize their feelings and think that you are the one responsible for all the hell that their parents have gone through.

Children have seen horrifying time in the process of divorce of their parents and feel that you are trying to take place of their father or mom.

The only thing that you can do in this situation is give your step children time and work patiently to build your relationships.

Second Step – Any relationship takes time to build, your relationship with step children is no different. Do not force things on your children rather give enough time and space to your children to feel comfortable and adjust to the new situation.

Once step children reach such a stage it will be easier to create bonding in your relationship.

Third Step – Create a feeling among your children that you are always there in case they need you. Your willingness to help your children in every possible way will create a big positive impact towards relationship building.

Fourth Step – As days pass by when your children see how you have made their parents happy, the thinking of you being a bad person will slowly make way for thoughts that you are a good person.

The moment your step children get this feeling the bonding between you and the step children will become stronger.

Fifth Step – Ultimately your children will realize that it is safe forming relationships with you even being a step parent. This forms the basis of long relationship.

  1. Hey there 🙂

Your wordpress site is very sleek – hope you don’t mind me asking what theme you’re using?
(and don’t mind if I steal it? :P)

I just launched my site –also built in wordpress like yours– but the theme slows (!) the site down quite a bit.

In case you have a minute, you can find it by searching for
“royal cbd” on Google (would appreciate any feedback)
    – it’s still in the works.

Keep up the good work– and hope you all take care of
    yourself during the coronavirus scare!
